Don't get me wrong. Some of you are absolutely the greatest people in the world. And you already know what is the purpose of my job. That's right . . . give you the customer prompt courteous service and make your visit to the restaurant a pleasant experience. And every day should be just that for both of us.
Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Let me elaborate from my perspective what some of you do as customers in a restaurant that just ruffles my feathers. Let's start with #1:
1. Please don't expect me to be super human. Even as an efficient
server, it does take more that a few seconds to refill drinks. If for
some reason I take too long, I will always apologize.
Please don't shake the ice in your glass if you need a refill
2. If you're having a problem with a meal, please tell me up front
and not wait until the last minute.
3. As I approach your table, if you are talking on your cell phone,
please be courteous and give your attention so I may take
your order efficiently.
4. When I ask if the group is ready to order, one of the party says
yes then proceeds to ask the rest of the party what they want
to order.
5. If there is anything wrong, please do not get angry. We will
always try to remedy any problem that occurs.
